Cast iron and bronze are Larrea's preferred materials, iron used in the medium- and large-scale works, as in The Venus of Santimamiñe, a title referring to the cave with prehistoric paintings in Arteaga (Bizkaia), almost always the result of a process in which preliminary models in bronze are enlarged and modified.
