The Museo del Bellas Artes de Bilbao is once again one of the venues for ZINEBI, the
Bilbao International Festival of Documentary Films and Shorts, the 54the edition of which will
take place between 16 and 23 November this year.
The Museums Auditorium will be
showing works from the cycles Bertoko Begiradak. Viewpoints from Euskadi, and Roads and
Intersections. Presentation by the École National Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de
Lyon. The first comprises a selection of very recent Basque films, focusing on the thematic and
formal concerns of Basque filmmakers as they relate to key issues within this regions history and
culture. The second offers a survey of the output of young artists trained at the Fine Arts School
in Lyon. In addition, the Museum will be taking part in the Homage to Carlos Saura, one of the
Mikeldis Honour Awards for 2012, with the projection of various full-length films by this renowned
director.
Finally, once again this year the Museum will host the colloquia and the
seminar-workshop Zinebilab. This year it will focus on Low Cost Cinema: crowd-funding,
cooperativism and sponsorship.
