VI Edition of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) in the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum
The Bilbao Fine Arts Museum will shortly celebrate the VI Edition of the International Council of Museum‘s (ICOM) International Museum Day.
The mission of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) is the conservation, continuation and the communication to society of the world’s natural and cultural heritage. Founded in 1946, ICOM is a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) that maintains formal relations with UNESCO and has its Head Offices in Paris
This year, ICOM Spain is organising the VI International Museum Day celebration to which all professionals pertaining to this particular field are cordially invited in order to learn more about the challenges with which museums are currently faced. The event will be held under the patronage of the County Council of Biscay.
The Opening Ceremony will take place in the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum the coming 17th of June. Delegates will be welcomed by the following: Josune Ariztondo, County Council Member for Culture, Rafael Azuar, President of ICOM Spain and Javier Viar, Director of the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum
