The Durrio Donation
Thanks to Flora Pié, in 2012 the Museum received the Durrio Donation
Thanks to the generosity of Flora Pié, in 2012 the Museum received the Durrio Donation, comprising the following works: an oil painting, Portrait of Durrio, by Juan de Echeverría (Bilbao, 1875 – Madrid, 1931); 4 ceramics by Francisco Durrio (Valladolid, 1868 – Paris, 1940); and 5 works in different techniques by his Joan Pié, who worked with Durrio (Vilabella, Tarragona, 1890 – Gigny, Yonne, Burgundy, France, 1977).
These works are normally on display in Room 21, alongside major paintings such as Laveuses à Arles (Washerwomen in Arles) by Paul Gauguin and Synchronie en vert (Synchrony in Green) by Paul Sérusier. However, some of them are currently included in the exhibition Francisco Durrio (1868-1940). In the wake of Gauguin, on display in the BBK Gallery of the Museum until 15 September.
