The Corte Inglés renews its collaboration with the museum and sponsors the sunday guided tours
An agreement that allows visitors to enjoy this activity free of charge
The Corte Inglés and the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum have just signed a new agreement that renews the collaboration which the department store has maintained with the museum for more than two decades, during which time it has sponsored a range of different activities. Thanks to the new collaborative agreement recently signed with THE CORTE INGLÉS, one of the most popular activities offered by the museum, the Sunday guided tours, can be enjoyed free of charge.
As a result of this agreement, visitors can take part for free in the guided tour offered every Sunday at 12 noon around the galleries of the permanent collection or the most important temporary exhibitions, led by a professional guide. Groups include no more than 20 people and the tour lasts approximately an hour and a quarter. The accompanying explanations are given in Spanish and Basque (last Sunday of the month) and can be booked free of charge at the museum's ticket desk on the day of purchasing an entry ticket.
This new agreement strengthens the commitment that the Corte Inglés has maintained with the museum for more than two decades, representing a key contribution to the development of its core activities. During these years the retail chain's sponsorship has allowed, for example, for the restoration of a total of 119 works from the museum's permanent collection. This collaboration now directly benefits visitors by promoting knowledge and appreciation of works of art on an entirely free basis.
Enrique Casado, director of the Corte Inglés in Bilbao, expressed his satisfaction with the renewal of the group's commitment: "The new agreement that we have just reached with the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum reinforces the close collaboration with the museum that we have maintained in an uninterrupted fashion for the past twenty-five years. A collaboration that has and will allow us to actively participate in the cultural and social life of Bilbao and Bizkaia as a whole".
Javier Viar, director of the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum, also expressed his appreciation for the fact that this long-standing partnership between the Corte Inglés and the museum, which has yielded such satisfactory results, continues in place and will facilitate access to knowledge of art for all interested visitors.
The Corte Inglés Sunday Guided Tours programme starts this Sunday, 31 July.
