Sustainable museum practice
New Illumination using LED technology
All the Museum’s exhibition galleries are now illuminated with high-technology, energy-saving LED technology, replacing the previous halogen bulbs. This new system guarantees savings of 80% on electricity, ensured through a system that monitors consumption. The new lights also allow for the use of different colour temperatures, permitting a more precise appreciation of the tones of each work of art.
Other installations in the Museum that use energy have also been replaced with the same aim of cutting consumption.
The Museum has benefited from the technical advice of Ente Vasco de la Energía (Basque Energy Board) throughout the entire process.
