Picasso and Oteiza. Presentation of the Latest Acquisitions and Donations
During the Museum patrons’ meeting held on Thursday, the 16th June, several new donations were accepted and acquisitions of other works of art were approved.
In the donations chapter, 3 prints from Pablo PICASSO’s Tauromaquia series were donated by a private citizen. To these must be added a preparatory drawing by José ARRUE for the work of the same author belonging to the Museum donated by Subastas Bilbao XXI. Two paintings by Juan de ARANOA and Javier URQUIJO respectively were also donated by private citizens. Acquisitions include 1 remarkable piece of work from the first period of sculptor, Jorge OTEIZA, 1 large format oil painting on linen by Antonio ORTIZ DE ECHAGÜE, 1 plaster figure by Francisco DURRIO and 1 engraving by Darío de REGOYOS. The afore-mentioned acquisitions have cost a total of 206,540 €, which were made available by the Museum patron BBVA’s acquisition fund.
