New director in 2017

Miguel Zugaza is appointed the new director of the museum

 

In a joint communiqué, Íñigo Méndez de Vigo, the Minister of Education, Culture and Sport, and Unai Rementeria, Chairman of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia and President of the Board of Trustees of the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum, have announced the appointment of Miguel Zugaza, the current director of the Museo del Prado, as the new director of the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum to replace Javier Viar. This appointment will come into effect in the early months of 2017.
