Organised in conjunction with the third International Print Festival, to be held in Bilbao from 20 to 23 November, this exhibition features a comprehensive selection of the graphic work of Mimmo Paladino (born Paduli, Italy, 1948), created by the artist over the last twenty years alongside his activities as a painter and sculptor.
Paladino began making prints in the late 1970s. Adopting an extremely experimental approach, he has worked in a wide range of techniques (woodcut, silkscreen, etching, lithography, drypoint, aquatint and collage), on occasions combining them to fully exploit their different expressive qualities. This exhibition presents two of his best known series, Ulysses (1994) and Crosses (2008), as well as a number of livres d’artiste, including Don Chisciotte (Don Quixote, 2005) and Ombre (Shadows, 2008).
