Latest donations

On 22 May the Museum’s Executive Committee accepted the donation of 76 artworks (9 paintings, 2 drawings, 21 prints, 17 sculptures and 27 posters) valued at more than 620,000 € in all. The donation includes works by Federico de Madrazo (Rome, 1815-Madrid, 1894), Ricardo Baroja (Minas de Ríotinto, Huelva, 1871-Bera, Navarra, 1953), Gonzalo Chillida (San Sebastián, 1926-2008), Vicente Ameztoy (San Sebastián, 1946-2001) and Andrés Nagel (San Sebastián, 1947), author of 16 sculptures and 18 prints received by the Museum. Also in the donation are posters and other works on paper, including four lithographs by Antonio de Guezala (Bilbao, 1889-1956).

A further 295 works on paper and 55 artist’s workbooks by Marta Cárdenas (San Sebastián, 1944), 36 paintings and 166 works on paper by Alberto Arrúe (Bilbao, 1878-1944), 4 plates and 3 prints by Mari Puri Herrero (Vitoria, 1942), and two drawings by Carlos Sáenz de Tejada (Tangiers, Morocco, 1897-Madrid, 1958) were donated to the Museum in 2014.
