Angel Larroque
A painter, oblivion and memory
It is the intention of the exhibition to recuperate Ángel Larroque’s career from a human and a professional point of view through 62 works which are representative of the extensive production of the artist (Bilbao, 1874-1961) and his themes: portraits, paintings influenced by local customs and manners, still life and landscapes. The collection opens with two youthful paintings which form part of the Museum’s collection – “La chica del gato” (The cat’s girl) and “Maternidad” (Maternity) – and closes with a series of still life paintings painted in the mid fifties.
