Amable Arias
Sketches about the invisible
33 Room
The starting point of the exhibition is occupied by the recent acquisition of two important canvases – De lo invisible I and De lo invisible II (1972) – by the painter Amable Arias (Bembibre, León, 1927 – Donostia/San Sebastián, 1984) and the intention is to acquaint the general public with one of the lesser-known facets of his artistic career: his work on paper. On acquiring these two works, the artist’s widow donated a collection of his works on paper, which, together with the works that already formed part of the museum’s collection make up the exhibition which comprises some hundred works.
