Audiovisual cycle. Néstor Basterretxea

To mark the Néstor Basterretxea exhibition, the Museum has organized a short season of films and documentaries associated with his artistic nature.

This cycle will present all of Néstor Basterretxea’s film oeuvre from his first experimental short film Operación H (1963) to the documentaries Pelotari (1964) and Alquézar (1965), made with Fernando Larruquert. It also includes his film masterpiece and a key work of Basque filmmaking, which is the full-length Ama Lur (1968). Also shown will be Basterretxea’s tv series known as Hombres de maíz (Men of Corn) (1988-1992).

The cycle is completed with the first showing of two recent titles on the artist: Néstor Basterretxea: una declaración (Néstor Basterretxea: a declaration) by José J. Bakedano, and Conversaciones con el artista Néstor Basterretxea (Conversations with the artist Néstor Basterretxea) by Elisabeth Pérez, made with the support of the BBK-Museo art research grant programme.
