The online collection and picture sale

BEACON. Garden of Delights was a commission from the Museum to mark its re-inauguration in 2001, after the refit and enlargement of its facilities. The work provides a vision of the historic periods of metropolitan Bilbao through a number of light fittings. It includes port and historic street lamps and garden beacons. Moraza harmonizes the monumental daytime aspect with the nocturnal delicacy, the moment when lighting converts the installation into a parenthesis of light. The work interacts with the city by transforming and reinterpreting part of its street furniture. BEACON. Garden of Delights ennobles the different lighting systems used in the city and converts them into icons of the city as a place of light. [Silvia García Lusa]
