The Moustache of the Gioconda

"The Moustache of La Gioconda", a literary and visual essay on pastiche in contemporary art by Spanish artist Eduardo Arroyo. A rich vein of autobiographical references and stories runs through the work, illustrating Arroyo’s personal conception of how an artist goes about his painting. Arroyo’s lively, irreverent approach seems to have spilled over into the prologues that accompany his text: "Our Daily Pastiche” by writer Jorge Edwards and “A Preface. That Is the Cat´s Whiskers”, by historian Francisco Calvo Serraller.
